Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from the PubhD Dublin team!

We will see you all for our 26th event on the 17th January 2018 at 7 PM in Doyle’s Pub  PubhD Dublin’s 26th event will take place on the 17th January at 7:00 pm upstairs in the Doyle’s Bar (9 College St, Dublin 2, Dublin) near Trinity College Dublin.

Our 3 speakers for the evening include:

Morgan Fraser, a Royal Society – SFI University Research Fellow at UCD, working on the explosion of the most massive stars in the Universe. He uses some of the biggest telescopes on the planet, along with satellites in orbit, to try and find and study supernova explosions. Besides creating exotic objects such as black holes, supernovae also produce many of the elements in the Universe such as carbon, oxygen and calcium. These heavy elements are crucial ingredients for forming planets, life, and even your pint!

Kimberly Luddy is a cancer biologist. Her research focuses on cancer immunology and how we can unleash the immune system to fight tumours.

Ruchi Palan recently completed PhD in disability studies from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, India. Her research explored the experiences and aspirations of disabled students in higher education in India and UK. Developing solutions, creating a more disability-friendly and inclusive environment is the focus of her current research and engagement.

Looking forward to seeing you all there. And as always, if you are interested in taking part in future events as a speaker, which usually take place on the first Wednesday of the month, please contact us at dublin@pubhd.ie!
